http://www.jeffreysgrove.com/rss/blog_6935.xmlJeffreys Grove Elementary School Blogen-usMon, 12 Oct 2009 15:30:50 GMTMon, 12 Oct 2009 15:30:50 GMTSchool World<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>10/12/09</FONT></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>&nbsp;</FONT></o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>The book fair last week was a resounding success!<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Thanks to all of the volunteers and to the parents who supported our school by purchasing books for their children.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Both evening events with the ice-cream socials were lots of fun and we had many, many students in attendance.</FONT></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>&nbsp;</FONT></o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>This is going to be a busy and exciting week!<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>We have our biggest fundraiser, the FUN RUN on Thursday.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>We will also be “unveiling” our new eagle mascot on that day, thanks to the efforts of one of our parents who is a graphic designer.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>I’m looking forward to seeing the students’ reactions to the new, more child-friendly eagle!<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Please come out on Thursday night, after the fun run, to either Wildflour or <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on">Cozumel</st1:place> to support our school while you eat.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>I’ll stop by and then am off to the Assistant Principal/Principal of the year banquet that evening. </FONT></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>&nbsp;</FONT></o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Professional Learning Teams (PLTs)<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>are well underway this year.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Staff are meeting each Wednesday to collaborate around learning and teaching.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>I’m having my first “Principal Chat” of the year on Wednesday at 9:15 where I’ll be sharing our end-of-year test data from last year and discussing PLTs with parents this year.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>I’d love for you to come have a cup of coffee and chat with me!</FONT></P> <P>&nbsp;</P>
