This has been a great first week of 2nd quarter. Thanks to those families who supported our school by eating at Saw Mill Tap Room on Tuesday. Report cards were sent home yesterday. Parents, please sign the report card envelopes and return the envelopes only to school. By now, most of you should have had your first conference with your child’s teacher. If you have not conferenced yet, check with your child’s teacher about an upcoming date.

Today, we had News Channel 11 do a “fly over” with one of their helicopters. They took a picture of our third graders spelling out JGES. We will get a blown up copy of the aerial photo to display at our school. The third graders also had an ice-cream party, courtesy of the PTA, for selling the most citi-pass books.

Please come out to school on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m. for a PTA meeting and for movie night. While you attend the PTA meeting in the media center, your children are welcome to watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and The Mayflower Voyagers in the multi-purpose room.

In last week’s phone message, I mentioned the Soaring Eagle ceremony, scheduled for November 13. This ceremony is being postponed, due to scheduling and procedural issues. More information will be sent home about it when the date and procedures have been firmed up.
