Good afternoon Jeffreys Grove families – This is Lisa Cruz with your weekly message. A copy of this message will be posted on Monday on our school website.
Monday, November 2 is the first day of 2nd quarter. Teachers are completing first quarter report cards and they will be sent home to all 2nd -5th grade students on Thursday. Kindergarten and first graders do not receive report cards this quarter.
Wake County is partnering with public, private and charter schools across the County to provide free seasonal flu shots to all school-age children in Kindergarten through grade 12. The vaccines will be offered at a variety of clinic sites throughout the County. Students may attend any clinic offered, regardless of the school they attend or where they live. A parent or guardian must accompany all students receiving the vaccine, regardless of age. Only injectable vaccine - a flu shot - will be available. Seasonal flu vaccine clinics for students will be offered from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. November dates and locations are listed on our website and on the Wake County schools website at wcpss.net [Monday, November 2, 2009 - Ravenscroft School; Tuesday, November 3, 2009 - Cary Academy; Wednesday, November 4, 2009 - Apex High School; Thursday, November 5, 2009 - Middle Creek High School; Monday, November 9, 2009 - Endeavor Charter School; Tuesday, November 10, 2009; Thursday, November 12, 2009 - Fuquay-Varina High School; Tuesday, November 17, 2009 - Garner High School; Wednesday, November 18, 2009 - Panther Creek High School; Thursday, November 19, 2009 - Green Hope High School; Tuesday, November 24 2009 - Cary High School.] We are excited to announce our very first “Soaring Eagle” ceremony on Friday, November 13. Students will be recognized for soaring in the following areas: attendance, academic achievement, and displaying good character. Classroom teachers will nominate students in their classrooms who meet criteria for recognition. This will occur on a quarterly basis. It is my hope and expectation that, by the end of the year, each of our students will be recognized in one or more areas. Further information regarding the ceremony will be sent home in Monday folders on November 9. Have a great weekend. Don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour early tomorrow morning and thanks for listening!
