Good afternoon Jeffreys Grove families –
Yesterday’s Fun Run/Dance-a-thon was a resounding success! Students had fun dancing and enjoying their ice pops. A special thanks to the PTA, particularly Sheryl Duke, for organizing this and to all of the parent volunteers who worked it to make it a successful event. Along with the dance-a-thon, we unveiled our new eagle mascot, thanks to the work of another parent, Amber Jones, who is a graphic designer and lent us her talents. Each student was given a drawstring bag with the new eagle on it. Please let your family members and friends who donated know that we exceeded our goal, raising $11,000 at last count. 3rd grade won the prize for having the most mailers returned and will enjoy an ice cream party with Ms. Lofton and me. This was our major fund raiser of the year and the school will really benefit from the utilization of these funds through the PTA budget. Thanks also to the families who ate out at either Wildflour Grill or Cozumel last night, as a portion of their proceeds will be donated to Jeffreys Grove.
Next week we have an early release day on Wednesday, October 21. Students will be dismissed at 1:15 so that our staff may engage in three hours of staff development and work with their Professional Learning Teams. On Thursday, we will be having picture day. Picture envelopes for ordering have already been sent home but if you need another one, we have extras in the office.
Hope you have a great week and thanks for listening!
